Sometime in February we will be hosting an event with lots of fun to be had. The bands have not been confirmed. I encourage everyone to bring their own instruments or anything you want to bang on to contribute to the love of music and community.
This event is also the start of OEOR. There will be information on our goals and plans of action in the future. I ask that anyone who attends this show becomes a member. Becoming a member means committing to the earth and its people. Every other week the organization will meet at a designated area to preform a certain act of kindness. Be it volunteering at a homeless shelter, planting trees, or picking up trash. Do not join this organization if you do not plan to commit to the responsibility of some kind of social or environmental work every other week and attending meetings every other month. This organization is a group effort so that means there is no president or secretary. We all put in the same amount of work and we all contribute our ideas. The fate of OEOR relies on the diversity of issues that people want to address.
The main purpose we set up this event is to raise money for Asmita(see the post below). She needs help and i know that we can help her. The show will cost $5 and all the money from the door will go to her. We will also being selling baked good for a dollar and all of that money will go to her aswell.

HELP ASMITA!
This is Asmita. She is 14 years old and lives in the small underdeveloped village of krishnapur, chitwan, nepal. She is suffering from a sever case of piles or hemorrhoids and she has for most of her young life. I have had the privilege to spend two months with her and be graced by this little angels presence. She is one of the most humble, thankful, and determined children i have ever met. Her disease prevents her from going to school or even moving from place to place on some days because the pain is so immense. If her living situation was better than she would be able to have medicine weekly or have surgery but she lives in a one room hut with her parents and 3 siblings. Her family has just enough food to feed themselves on their fathers small salary of an elecrtrican. I have been in contact with her mother and i am determined to provide medicine and if need be surgery for Asmita. My goal is to raise $600 (aprx. 43,000 rupees) for asmita's medicine, surgery, and recovery. Every girl deserves to have her childhood, nothing should deprive her of that. The date has not been confirmed yet but, i am setting up a benefit show for her. This show will also be the beginning of this organization in an attempt to recruit members. I will post more details as they come. Love and light
